Power When the Sun Goes Down
Solar power is only as good as the battery storing it. Thor Lithium captures more of every ray and delivers more of what you store, wherever you need it. Every Thor Lithium Solar battery is built with the features that matter most when it comes to effectively and efficiently utilizing solar power. No shortcuts, no compromises. Just reliable power backed by technology and people you can count on.
Built for Life Off the Grid
Solar panels generate the power. Your battery determines whether you actually get to use it. Thor Lithium LiFePO4 batteries store solar energy more efficiently than lead-acid, discharge deeper without damage, and last a decade or more without maintenance. Whether you're powering a remote cabin, an RV, a van build, or a commercial application in the field, Thor Lithium keeps your solar system performing the way it was designed to.
Questions About Solar Lithium Batteries?
Absolutely. Upgrading to Thor Lithium is the single most effective way to improve your solar system’s performance. Because our batteries have a 100% depth of discharge (compared to 50% for lead-acid), you can often replace a massive, heavy lead-acid bank with a much smaller, lighter Thor bank while maintaining the same amount of usable energy.
Most modern MPPT and PWM charge controllers have a Lithium or LiFePO4 setting. To maximize the lifespan of your Thor battery, you should ensure your controller is set to this profile. This ensures the battery is charged at the correct voltage (typically around 14.4V for 12V systems) and prevents unnecessary equalization stages that can damage lithium cells.
Standard lithium batteries cannot safely accept a charge if the internal cell temperature is below 32°F (0°C). Our Heated Series (available in 100Ah, 150Ah, and 175Ah) features internal heating elements that automatically warm the cells using incoming solar power. This makes Thor the “set it and forget it” choice for remote sites in North Dakota winters or high-altitude mountain cabins.
In a typical solar environment, Thor Lithium batteries are rated for 3,000 to 5,000+ cycles. If you are cycling the battery once per day, that equates to 10+ years of reliable service. Compare this to lead-acid batteries in solar setups, which often require replacement every 2–3 years due to “sulfation” from sitting at a partial state of charge.
Yes. You can wire Thor batteries in Parallel to increase your total Amp Hour (capacity/runtime) or in Series to increase your voltage (creating 24V or 48V systems). For large-scale solar arrays, we recommend using batteries of the same age and capacity to ensure the Battery Management Systems (BMS) stay perfectly synced.
Remote power can be stressful if you can’t see what’s happening. With the Thor Lithium App, you can check your battery’s state of charge, voltage, and current draw from 30 feet away. This allows you to monitor your solar harvest and consumption in real-time, ensuring you never have to guess if you’ll have enough power to make it through the night.
