Your camper is your home on the road, and everything that makes it comfortable depends on reliable power. When your battery can't keep up, the trip stops feeling like one. Thor Lithium camper batteries are built for the way people actually camp today, whether that's a weekend rooftop tent escape, a month-long overland expedition, or full-time van life. More usable power, less weight, faster charging, and zero maintenance, backed by a 10-year free replacement warranty.

Thor Bolt

More Efficient Power for Bigger Builds

24V delivers the same output at half the current, meaning less heat in your wiring and better overall system efficiency. A single Thor Lithium 24V battery replaces two 12V batteries in series, simplifying your bank and cutting weight. The right choice for larger van builds, expedition-level overland rigs, and any setup where 12V efficiency becomes a limiting factor.

Questions About Camper Lithium Batteries?

How much battery capacity do I need for my camper?

Start by listing every device you use daily, its wattage, and how many hours per day it runs. Most minimalist setups land between 75 and 150 amp-hours of daily consumption. Weekend campers with a basic setup can typically get by with a single 100Ah battery. Full-timers or anyone running larger loads should start at 200Ah and size up from there. The goal is at least 2 days of capacity without recharging. Call us and we’ll help you build the right system for your rig.

Can I charge my camper battery while driving?

Yes, through a DC-to-DC charger. Connecting a lithium battery directly to your alternator without one isn’t recommended, as the voltage may not be optimized for LiFePO4 chemistry. A DC-to-DC charger safely regulates the voltage between your vehicle and your house battery, protecting both while efficiently charging on the move.

Will lithium batteries work with my existing camper electrical system?

In most cases, yes, with a few checks. Confirm your charger or converter has a LiFePO4 charging profile, and that your solar charge controller has a lithium-compatible setting. If you’re doing a new build, designing around lithium from the start is significantly easier than retrofitting later. Give us a call and we’ll help you work through your existing setup before you buy.

How much weight will I save by switching to lithium?

A standard 100Ah lead-acid battery weighs 60 to 70 pounds. A Thor Lithium 100Ah comes in well under 30. Running two batteries means removing 60 to 80 pounds from your rig. For rooftop tent setups and truck campers where weight distribution is critical, that savings is more than a performance upgrade. It’s a practical necessity.

How long do camper lithium batteries last?

Thor Lithium batteries are rated for 3,000 to 5,000 cycles, typically translating to a decade or more of service life. A lead-acid battery manages 300 to 500 cycles, or 2 to 4 years with regular use. Every Thor Lithium battery is backed by our 10-year free replacement warranty because we know what they’re built to do.

Do I need a special charger for my lithium camper battery?

Yes. Thor Lithium batteries require a charger with a LiFePO4 charging profile. A compatible 12V charger should reach 14.4V to 14.6V. If you’re running solar, confirm your charge controller has a lithium setting. If charging from your vehicle, use a DC-to-DC charger. Not sure about your setup? Call us before you plug in.
