Questions About
Lithium Batteries?
It’s all about the conditions. If you fish in calm water for 6-8 hours, the 52Ah is a lightweight dream. If you are a tournament pro fishing 10-12 hours in wind, the 63Ah is the industry standard. If you are an offshore captain or a Midland oil field operator running pumps 24/7, the 100Ah is the only way to go.
It won’t increase the motor’s top-rated RPM, but it will make it feel faster all day long. Because lead-acid batteries lose voltage as they drain, your motor gets “weaker” throughout the day. Thor Lithium provides 100% torque and speed from the first cast to the last.
This is the most immediate performance mod you can give your boat. A traditional 36V setup requires three Group 31 lead-acid batteries, weighing roughly 210–225 lbs. A single Thor 36V 63Ah weighs only 35 lbs. You are removing nearly 200 lbs from your bilge. This leads to a faster hole-shot, higher top-end speeds, and significantly better fuel or hull efficiency.
There is no comparison. A 36V lead-acid bank (three 12V batteries) usually lasts 1–2 years in a pro-fishing or industrial environment. A Thor 36V battery is rated for 3,000–5,000 cycles, meaning it will likely outlast the boat or the equipment it’s powering.
Thor Lithium uses LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), which is the safest lithium chemistry available. It is non-combustible and won’t catch fire if punctured (unlike the lithium in cell phones). Our advanced BMS also provides a safety shield against short circuits and over-temperature.
Yes. Whether you run a Minn Kota, MotorGuide, Garmin, or Lowrance, our 36V batteries are designed to be a direct drop-in replacement. While lithium maintains a higher voltage than lead-acid throughout the day, it stays within the operational parameters of all major 36V trolling motor brands. In fact, your motor will likely run cleaner and more efficiently because it isn’t struggling with the voltage sag common in old-school battery banks.
